Statement: I am very concerned over the laws, rules, procedures, etc. enforced on the commercial fisheries. People working on the water have been jumping through so many hoops over the years. No one seems to understand. It is time they had a voice. I also worry about seniors struggling to get by, not just with the basic everyday things, but now with heating their homes. These are a proud group of people who tend not to ask for anything. I want to be a resource for them and help them through processes. I also worry about young couples starting out. How do they obtain a home? Currently houses are being sold so fast and are expensive. How do they fit in the market? I have purchased homes before. It involved financing, but at least I had the opportunity for the “American Dream.” Lastly, I would also like to get away from party labels. These politics are local and should be treated that way. This is not Washington, D.C. We need to create an environment of trust and respect. We should not worry about the parties so much and focus on getting the people’s work done. Many share my viewpoint on this. Think Maine. Thank you.
