Statement: The county form of government has not really reached its potential in Maine. In the next few years, I would like to see if we can find a way for the smaller towns in Knox to feel like they have a say in what happens with county government. We need to get the county as an active partner with the towns to see if there are efficiencies in consolidating services or cost savings with better cooperation.

I would like us expand the number of commissioners to five and to meet with the individual towns on a regular basis. I think much of what the county does is done well, but there is always room for improvement, and getting input from the communities that we serve is key. We need to treat the area as a cohesive whole, not just a bunch of small towns, and see if the county can help everyone work together for everyone’s benefit.
