“I am running because I love my family and I want to keep them safe, I love my job, and I love serving and working for the people of Downeast Maine. I have put together a team of dedicated, experienced and ethical prosecutors who share my devotion to this work and of whom I am extremely proud.
The pandemic has caused a radical slowing in the public’s access to courts, in particular access to jury trials. Despite the Court system’s difficulties due to the pandemic, I believe that my office still needs to enforce the laws and prosecute criminal behavior as diligently as always and as justice demands.
The opioid crisis and violent crime have only been worsened by the pandemic and I will continue to work closely with my law enforcement partners to use every means we have at our disposal to protect our families.
I look forward to continuing to serve my community as District Attorney. I have learned valuable lessons during the past 7+ years and I hope that the public will continue to put their trust in me. I would be honored to put my education, experience and heart into serving as District Attorney for another term.”
