Statement: In 2018, the people of District 6, Waldo, Knox, Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties overwhelmingly decided to take the criminal justice system back to its roots, standing with me in the belief that justice does not begin and end in the courtroom, but begins and ends in our communities. Voters demand creative thinking and new ideas to tackle issues of public safety, harm, healing and addiction. Gone are the days of processing victims and offenders through a bureaucratic system that fails our families, our friends and our neighbors. In my second term as district attorney, I will continue investing in community-based restorative justice, harm reduction, high risk safety planning, collaboration between law enforcement and community, and listening to all of our community members to find solutions that make sense to us as hardworking, resourceful and sensible Midcoast Mainers. I look forward to serving another four years as your district attorney. I sincerely thank you for trusting me with this immense responsibility, and I will work hard every day to live up to that responsibility.
