Elections 2022

Election Coverage and Results from Hancock, Knox and Waldo Counties, Maine

Patrick Polky

Knox County Sheriff

Age: 45

Residence: St. George

Party: Democratic

Education: Some college

Previous elected positions: None

Statement: I was born and raised in Knox County, and grew up in St. George, where I live with my wife and daughter today. I am a graduate of Georges Valley High School. I retired from the Maine Army National Guard after 21 years and was a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the Town of St. George for approximately 19 years. I’ve served in law enforcement for over 22 years here in the Midcoast area, most recently as Chief Deputy of Knox County and am currently certified as a law enforcement officer and corrections officer.

I am running for Knox County Sheriff so that I may continue working to enhance partnerships and collaborative efforts between the Sheriff’s Office and the community, expand services that are effective in reducing recidivism, focus on programs that build healthier and safer communities and make certain that staff members continue to practice compassionate accountability when in contact with community members.

This is certainly not a one-person job. To succeed, it will take all of us working together. Accordingly, I respectfully ask for your vote on Nov. 8.
